What is Fixnote?
Fixnote is a Chrome extension for telling a developer exactly what to change on a website. You click the thing that is wrong, highlight text, or drag a box around part of the page, then type what should change. Fixnote records the exact spot and what it says now, plus a screenshot of anything you capture. When you are done it sends one clean document with every change in order, ready for your developer to work straight through.
Do I need to install anything on my website?
No. Fixnote runs in your own browser, so there is no code to add to your site, no plugin to install and nothing for your developer to set up first. It works on sites you can't edit, sites an agency manages for you, staging links, and pages behind a login.
Does my developer need Fixnote?
No. They get a normal Word document that opens in Word, Google Docs or Pages. Each change has an ID like FN-03, so you can both point at the same item without describing it again.
How is Fixnote different from website feedback widgets?
Most feedback tools are built for agencies: the developer installs a widget on the site and invites the client in. Fixnote is built for the client. You use it on any site you can open, with no widget, no invite and no setup from anyone else, and you decide when the list is ready to send.
Does it work with AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor or Codex?
Yes. Every report can also export as Markdown with a screenshots folder. Each change carries the page, the element, its current text and the requested change, which is what Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Lovable or v0 need to make the change without a follow-up question.
Does it work on PDFs?
Yes. Open a PDF in Chrome, click the Fixnote icon and it opens in the Fixnote viewer. Press Space or drag a box around anything on the page, then type the change. Each note records the page number and a screenshot, so proposals, SOPs and menus get the same clean list.

Which browsers are supported?

Where does my data go?
Notes and screenshots stay in your browser until you send a report. When you send one, the report is saved privately to your Fixnote account so you can find it later, and that is the only thing Fixnote ever receives. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored on your computer.
